26 The DBF Belt has been redesigned with the “Raptor” belt buckle. These buckles are heavy duty, extra strength quick-release buckles with an improved adjuster bar that allows easier belt size adjustments. Manufactured in the USA from Lightweight 7075 Aluminum. A ThermoLuminescent Dosimeter, or TLD, is a type of radiaƟon dosimeter. A TLD measures ionizing radiaƟon exposure by measuring the intensity of visible light emiƩed from a crystal in the detector when the crystal is heated. The TLD or badge detects the exposure of a person to x-rays, gamma radiaƟon, neutron and beta parƟcles. Personnel who are exposed to radiaƟon as part of their occupaƟon must be provided with an appropriate and approved TLD. Presently there are a variety of dosimeters in use in the field. A large majority of these devices are worn on the trouser belt. In many professions, workers are oŌen required to operate in highly restricted spaces. However, in such situaƟons, there have been instances where the belt buckle inadvertently comes undone and the monitoring device falls off without the wearer's awareness. This unfortunate occurrence requires a considerable amount of Ɵme to document the loss of the device and necessitates removing the employee from their work unƟl they are cleared to return. The DBF Belt, is a “Riggers” style belt that is fiƩed with a nylon loop and metal hook that is designed to securely fix the TLD in place, significantly reducing the chances of TLD loss.
